In 1998, Tabu was accused of poaching two blackbucks in Kankani during the recording of Hum Saath Hain alongside co-stars Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam Kothari. A lower court accused her of the others under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and the IPC.
